Is checking # of teeth showing in smile accurate to determine width of maxilla

Does this not get affected by the size of your teeth themselves

I have 2 bigger front teeth and when i smile naturally theres 8 top teeth showing easily and a bit of the 9th and 10th in the back

Showing all 12 and molars n all seems too much and like it would look uncanny on me

How can u actually tell how good ur palate width is

Measure it
 
no. just measure the intermolar width and canine width. bite down on a piece of paper and measure from the central fossa of the first molar
