Idk about you nighas but I eat expired stuff all the time and nm I've never gotten sick once. I'm a horder, every time I go to the supermarket I buy whatever catches my eye and then it stays rotting in my fridge or in the shelves for a long ass time. I eat most of it before expiry dates but sometimes I do consume them after aswell.

Expiry dates are just there so company could profit from regular purchases and to avoid getting sued.I remember drinking milk that was past its best by date. It smelled and tasted completely fine, no lumps or curdling so I chugged it anyway. My mom freaked out like I was gonna get cancer or something but nothing happened at all. You can do the same with a lot of expired meats and veggies. Just use common sense. If it looks good, smells and taste normal it is perfectly safe to consume, if anything seems off, toss it. As simple as that. Only thing that is kinda risky is deli meats cold cuts can be contaminated even if they smell and look fine. Just cook them in a pan or toss them in a microwave for a few minutes

ya pretty much itโ€™s just a safe date, especially fermented foods can last way way way longer but eating expired food isnโ€™t a big deal long as it passes the eye and smell test, good bacteria anyways :CarlosPls:

no, the very second it reaches that date and time, sodium cyanide is released into the consumable.

If a food expires in 2 years the expiry date will be 1-1.5 years, its always so that the company doesnt face liability, its a safe guess for the company to be sure

honestly bro if anything its the opposite, stores repackage meat and shit with newer expiry dates so people buy it, almost all the meat you get at the store is already "expired"

That's not how it works most stores don't repackage with fake new dates that's illegal and gets them fined/busted when caught. Food safety authorities are very particular about these things. They don't care about the chemicals and preservatives but they strictly enforce this.

The meat you buy is fresh-packed with super conservative dates so they can rotate stock fast, markdown "old" stuff, and avoid lawsuits. If anything, the dates are set way earlier than needed, not later. The real scam is how much perfectly good meat gets tossed because of paranoid labels, not because it's secretly expired when you grab it.
