If you're fasting you're not getting any nutrition at all. If you're cutting at least you can still lose weight while avoiding becoming deficient in anything. If maintaining weight was the only important thing for development OP could eat flour and canola oil and max out his development. I don't think anyone who is still developing should fast or do extreme caloric restriction. For your body to actually be fasting it must avoid food for 3 to 5 days depending on metabolism. Fasting and praying you won't fold to hunger rarely ever works, it's better to cut bit by bit long term than to rely on a miracle solutions. You're setting yourself up for likely failure. If you couldn't be disciplined about your weight in the first place what the fuck makes you think you will be able to do something that requires incredible amounts of will power?What does that have to do with fasting?

Oh yes. I've done it most of my life, even as a teencel, because I never liked eating breakfast every day. But real fasting takes time and a lot of willpower.
