no, you'll have less of a bond for the most part
In Tech I've seen with my own eyes HRs being given targets to exclusively hire a certain number women in each job drive.
My idea was;yes if ur gl
I don't think that's true, it seems opposite, can't say for sure thoMy idea was;
- intersexual competition doesn't apply to you. Coworkers won't get jealous because your new lipstick mogs or because chad gives you more attention.
- men usually don't get pregnant. That's an advantage when it comes to climbing the career ladder.
- women tend to make choices that lead to a better work Life Balance over more money. Meaning you have less competition if you're career driven.
cons are pretty significant if you ask me- higher ups tend to still be men, despite many of the entry positions being female dominated. Might give you a small advantage with higher ups.
Cons would be:
- you won't bond / joke around with coworkers as you would with men. You have to be more careful.
- they might make some jokes about guys in front of you, which you just have to laugh about
Any other ideas?
Why do you think it's the opposite? Do you mean specifically the last point about women seeking a better work life Balance instead of maximizing for money and status?I don't think that's true, it seems opposite, can't say for sure tho

If you like the career then you can go for it but otherwise no
About the cons, you have to be careful.. but from my experience, with 90% of the guys in uni, you can't openly joke like you would with your boys from highschool anyways...I don't think that's true, it seems opposite, can't say for sure tho

yea, I see women taking this stuff more seriously & trying to prove their competenceWhy do you think it's the opposite? Do you mean specifically the last point about women seeking a better work life Balance instead of maximizing for money and status?

i think women being more serious about it lasts until highschool/ uni.yea, I see women taking this stuff more seriously & trying to prove their competence
Men are often lazy about it
hmmm
still, bonding with opposite gender has a barrier
women at work will obviously be closer

Once marriage / having children comes into play, the amount of really career driven women decreases I think. Especially if you're already in a field that is known for having a good work life balance like dermatolgy. Even though there are still many competent and ambitious women in fields like Finance, law, medicine, etc.
I've heard from someone if you start as a male pediatric doctor (a female dominated field) you'll have an easier time becoming the chief physician.
Some typical male traits are helpful for that.
Dermatology might be quite similar. Especially since some might just want to do easy shit like injections, you'll have an advantage if you actually want to learn how to operate and take harder cases.
Also female dominated doesn't mean only women are there. If you're lucky, you'll meet a couple cool guys as well.
