• due to poverty they mostly eat a diet of rice, corn, and potato, with very little meat
• as a result of poor diet, north koreans are shorter than south koreans
• western clothing and makeup is illegal
• men must have one of 15 approved haircuts, for women there are 18
• birth control is prohibited
• religion is prohibited
• only 4 television channels
• foreign media is prohibited
• no international calls
• internet access mostly unavailable, they have an intranet connection for NK sites (kwangmyong)
• viewing or distributing porn is punishable by death
• doesn't recognize existence of LGBT

South Korea

• constitutional republic
• can freely travel to 171 countries
• liberal, feminist country
• women are whores, men are effeminate
• distribution of porn is a felony, but viewing is not a crime
• internet mostly uncensored, except pro-NK and some porn sites which are blocked
• a third of the country has plastic surgery
• country full of consoomers obsessed with kpop
• richer nightlife of clubs, bars, shows
• easier to get meat, seafood, better food overall
• 70% of country has tertiary education
