Is it normal to not want children?

Life itself is the propagation of the species, so not wanting kids is a middle finger to evolution

So in summary not normal at all, some exceptions can be made, wanting to save more (kids are expensive), advancing career, being too ugly and don't want to inflict it upon your offspring.
