Is it possible to avoid wisdom tooth extraction for lower jaw surgery?

My orthdo said I need to get them extracted in order to proceed with surgery (using xray to detect impacted wisdom teeth first), another alternative was extracting premorals with braces but that doesn't even fix the root cause and obviously its a worse option.

Almost nobody has all their wisdom teeth with the exception of mew child patients, but those are still functional teeth
