is it possible to eat like shit and lose weight in calorie deficit

how can i lose weight in a caloric deficit / OMAD if i mainly eat what my parents make? im not really able to diet nor can afford to. i pretty much OMAD and only eat dinner and I don't really track my calories, i just eat in smaller portions or track when im able to and play it safe and it works. but this cooked my metabolism and i think its holding me back, what do i do?
