Yes, you can fix an overbite FUNCTIONALLY with braces, but aesthetic improvements require jaw surgery. If your goal is just not to have issues with your bites you can do braces (in some cases, not all), but this will do nothing for the aesthetics part of it so you will still look recessed.

there are functional appliances but you gotta be young
any age is possible but the time is the problem the older you are the longer. Depending on ur overbite as well since its just a misplacement of the mandible not actual recession.

what is actual recession?

Look at the lips from the side profile. This guy has a textbook good occlusion this is a recessed jaw not a overbite.

Kind of true but you can fix overbite any age if ur issue is misplacement of the mandible meaning not actual recession at any age with certain appliances. Depending on the overbite, If you have actual recession then most likely not.
