Is it possible tret made my skin thin

I’ve been using tretinoin for almost 3 years. I used it very say for a year, and the past 2 ones I’ve been applying it a few times a week since I’ve heard it’s great against aging. However I’ve noticed I’ve gotten these ugly nasolabial folds that I am pretty sure didn’t exist before (or at least were this visible)

Is it possible that tret made my skin thinner and in result I got the folds?
