It really depends where you're starting from, if you're a sophomore or freshman in highschool start grinding for good grades so you can go to an Ivy or equivalent. Almost all of the people who make that level of money are Ivy educated and make use of the connections such an environment builds.

I think the most efficient way is this:
Attend Stanford or MIT studying CS, develop an app/service in your free time. Pitch idea to investors and constantly network. Then there's a chance some random billionaire's VC manager will buy out your project for $10 million. VC is by far the easiest route. Many of these projects are in development for less than 2 years.

The truth is people who are built to succeed will almost always due so despite their circumstances. Rich guy who's thrown into a middle class lifestyle will likely become rich again because he's simply higher IQ than most people and has experience/network to utilize. This only applies to the self-made rich people though, not inherited.
The most important quality to these people is their ability to endure DELAYED gratification, whereas your average normie is driven my bestial instinct and emotion.
