I personally think no, infact I am of the opinion that it is selfish not to have kids because one of the biggest problems in first world nations is the demographical collapse that occurred due to a decline in birth rates. But I want to hear what the good folks of .org have to say.

That's the classic utilitarian argument of whether or not their birth will result in more happiness than suffering, but the problem with this line of thinking is that we have no way of predicting this.

If that's what you mean then yea, I would agree that having a child while knowing that you will not be able to properly care for them is selfish.

I think Westerners are very very stupid. They want to make everything perfect before they have children. It's bullshit. I'm a Westerner.

When my son was born my wife and I had been living at the Red Roof Inn for half a month. My son will go way farther than any of my stupid older cousins who had to betabuxx and acquire a "fairytale" lifestyle before having kids. They're the type of people who put their kids in daycare on their birthdays so they can enjoy them without their children lol. What kind of defective retards the poor kids will grow into I'm not sure.

Hey buddy maybe having a little reading comprehension and understand that I said the opposite

every consecutive child will get worse and worse genes
so if you want to reduce your chances of a subhuman go for 1-2 kids

Well yes, but they will also experience joy and happiness.

depends on the race

Joy and happiness do not make up for growing old, watching ur whole family die then getting health issues and dying yourself

If you have poor genes and reproduce you are a piece of shit

Yep. People have them for selfish reasons. They want a “mini me,” to leave behind a “legacy.”

But considering the fact you're raising the kids and trying to give them the best life you can, how can that be considered selfish? People effectively stop living a life for themselves when they have kids. You're basically giving up your life to raise children.

Well let’s not forget that parents have expectations for their children, and when these aren’t met then their attitude changes. Not only that, but the driving force behind taking care of them is because they specifically take care of them since they are their own children. That is still selfish. If they were truly selfless, then they’d be adopting children and then giving them the same amount of love. But how many parents adopt when they can have their own children? Almost none. Only examples I can think of are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Hmm, that's a good point. So maybe a majority of parents are just bad parents? I think if you don't treat your kid differently if he doesn't meet some expectations of yours, and you do your best to raise them and give them the best life, then maybe it isn't selfish? I find those celebrities who adopt kids kind of weird (especially if it's a white couple adopting some black kids or asian kids or w/e), but I guess if you have unlimited resources, then go for it.

I don't know how some people can adopt. Maybe if you aren't fertile, it makes sense, but for me, I would feel like a massive cuck if I'm raising someone else's kids. I don't have enough empathy for orphans/kids put up for adoption, I guess. The only way I could raise someone else's kids is if they were my best friend. Like, I go to war with my friend and he dies, and it's up to me to make sure his kids live a good life.

I mean, yeah… but if you want to give them the best life, wouldn’t it be better to not have them? If you have them, they’re exposed to all kinds of dangers. In fact, they may or may not get exploited, either through labor or through other means.

Hmm… I dunno, I do think it’s cucked to raise other people’s children if the parents are still alive. But it’s a noble thing to raise an orphan. By orphan I mean a child whose parents have died. I’d definitely adopt orphans, but then I realize children need both a mother figure and a father figure, and not just one or the other. So I’m better off on my own.

Well, yeah, not having them makes it impossible for them to ever get into any danger, but it also makes it impossible for them to feel anything ever, including pleasure. You're the only one who can make your kids. If you don't do it, none of them will ever have a chance. There are a lot of beautiful moments in life, like watching movies with your bhai :Comfy::Comfy: - Speaking of when are you, me, and edo gonna have our movie night? No rush, bhai.

If I knew the parents of the orphan, I'd feel better about it. What if the parents died doing some kind of drugs or died while drunk driving? I guess it's not the fault of the orphan, but damn,:dafuckfeels: there are so many kids in the world that need homes. People just pop them out so recklessly without a care in the world for the child's well-being.

How does next Sunday sound? :)

And yeah, I know, but I prefer not having them at all! Everyone’s different of course, and I know I’m not the only one.

To be honest, I’m kind of glad I got rejected by my oneitis. Because it’s clear she wanted kids, and I simply don’t.

And uh, yeah, each to their own. No judging here. But personally I’d adopt orphans, regardless of how their parents died. But a single man adopting kids is a bad idea.

Sounds great to me, mang, just make sure to remind me when you're ready in advance because my memory is shot :feelstastyman:

Well, maybe you can use that as a reason why the relationship wouldn't have worked. It'll be okay bhai :feelscry: you will find a woman who doesn't want kids either.

Admirable of you to be willing to adopt orphans. I just don't think it's selfish to raise children as long as you're a good parent (most aren't)
