is it too late to wear my removable palate expander?

so the context in this i got a removable palate expander at like age 8-9, now im 15 and 7 months old, as i kid i didn't wear the expander cuz i was a stupid kid and recently i got braces like 8 months ago, i am wearing the removable palate expander and i can feel my palate hurting as i wear it over my braces, is it stupid for me to use it at this late age or should i just keep mewing

just wear it, if its hurting that might be a good thing

No the first days it will hurt it's a good thing just wear it for some time and you will see it'll stop when u turn it to expand u might feel a bit of pressure
