There are recessive genes and dominant genes, and its largerly a lottery of which u get coming from ur mother and father.

My mom's side grandpa legit has hair only on his sides, the typical Norwood of doom

My father side has no signs of balding tho

My grandad has a full head of brown hair at 75 no exageration, although it is quite thin probably due to aging and various health issues. His son, my dad, was bald at 21 jfl.
