I’m almost done with braces — teeth and bite are basically perfect. Ortho said I could remove them by end of this year or mid next year.
Thinking about getting a Hyrax expander purely for aesthetic reasons (wider midface, better harmony). My ortho said it’s possible, but there’s a good chance my front teeth would separate (diastema), meaning I’d need more correction after.
My question is:
Is it worth getting the Hyrax even though everything is already aligned, purely for the potential aesthetic improvement? Or does the risk outweigh the benefits in this case?

- Palate is average, not narrow
- Good habits: nasal breathing, training, etc
- Just want to know if it’s worth it purely for facial aesthetics, or if I’d just be messing with something that’s already fine.
