Is it worth paying more to live alone?

This is for after moving out parents' house

Is it worth paying more for a single room apartment/studio, or living with housemates and having to share kitchen, bathroom, general space?

I'm more in favour of living alone. I hated having housemates at uni and those were my friends. I'd even probably rather work an hour a day more to cover expenses

I'd be paranoid living with a stranger. I feel like they'd look through my shit or steal stuff when I'm not home. I'd say the extra money for peace of mind knowing you can leave your stuff around without it disappearing & knowing you have your own space is worth it.
