At the end of the day everything we do/ aim to thrive in life comes down to the fundamental value that we hope to find a mate to reproduce with. Why do people want to become rich? Well it's quite simple. You'd be an idiot if you merely believe people desire wealth in order to possess more things. Sure, that is correct but we desire more possessions because it is a signal that we are a viable partner to have an offspring with, not just the surface level idea that "we need more stuff". Likewise, almost anything we do comes down to us wanting to reproduce. Basic non-romantic human interaction is pursued in the hopes that through a social network we will find our future mate. It is merely how us as humans have evolved, to operate in social networks where we will interact and then find partners through that. If you are denied of the ability to find a partner, then why do anything? Are you going to cope for the next 70 odd years of your life, hoping that one day you will "find the one"? Explain to me the purpose of living if one cannot access the sole thing that motivates him to do EVERYTHING. You can cope with muh life experience and friends, but subconsciously you'll forever recognise that all of your achievements and ambitions mean nothing, and you died a mere loser.
