I don't think it's more an illusion than any other sensory experience. Is the taste of food an illusion because it's a biological process? When you've fucked a girl, one with whom you're in love, and you lie beside her afterwards, and those waves of relaxation and affection pass over you, it wouldn't be dishonest to acknowledge that it's just your brain flooding with oxytocin. Is sleepiness an illusion because it's just your circadian rhythm dictating the release of melatonin into your body? I don't think it's necessarily NOT an illusion, but it's definitely reductive to say anything with a scientific explanation is illusory, unless you're one of the simulation theory cucks
