Recessed maxilla is genetic or because of mouth breathing

They both play a role but genetics is the predominant factor

Half and half, but the only lifestyle that is important is in the womb and your first few years of life

If you decent genetics, you could've got good bones from great lifestyle
If you have good genetics, you could've got perfect bones from decent lifestyle
If you have bad genetics, you couldn't get good bones no matter what.

That question varies depending on who you ask. For me, simple lifestyle changes that I started 4 years ago have dramatically changed my bones for the better. If you ask Chad, who has chad parents and godly genetics, lifestyle doesn't matter as much for his bones- they still would have been decent even if he mouth breathed and ate like shit growing up. If you as Ming from China, who is genetically cursed to have a flat maxilla and a shit mandible, it's over, no matter how hard he tries optimizing his lifestyle growing up.

For the average person they matter about equally unless you're genetically cursed, which is a small percent of the western population
