it works, the younger the better, if you're older than 25 mewing can take 10 years before you have decent gains. Chewing will make your jaw look better but it won't cause your jaw to move forward at least not to any amazing extent. Mike Mew uses appliances for that.

My orthodontist specializes in mewing and mewing appliances, i got all of this from a certified orthodontist, who has physically made changes in young adult faces through tongue posture, and had instances of changes in adults over 25. Mewing is taught by orthodontists all over the world.
