Im 18 and I can afford an expander

it wont "ascend" you though your jaw is totally recessed

Considering you're 18 traditional RPE often causes dental tipping at your age, MARPE can still achieve true skeletal expansion in your case, but SARPE will be needed if the suture is fully fused.

no orthodontist in my city does MARPE for under 15 grand for some reason i thought it was 5-7k , can I do MARPE at home or big risk?

Hell no, DIY MARPE is extremely dangerous as it involves placing screws into bone and requires CBCT planning and medical supervision. Doing it at home can cause permanent damage, MARPE isn’t something that can be safely done without professional supervision so the risks far outweigh any cost savings.

If u can take harshness you are right about boneless ur ramus is short gonial angle isn't ideal, and ur maxilla and mandible are slightly recessed also ur infras are slightly sunken sadly fixing all this cant be done without surgeries but i would definitely recommend pallette expander as if u can still make it wider it will be able to fix the face a lot it wont magically make all recessions go away but it will make them smaller

Bro the issue I have is I think it's because I was low test all of puberty cuz I'm morbidly obese, like my dad/brother/uncles all have wide clavicles & good bonemass and they're all taller than me too im 6'2 but my younger brother 6'3 which im happy for him dont get me wrong but i think thats the reason

Well since ur 18 ur palate is has mostly fused already so using anything else wouldn't work as you're not young and regular expanders can't do much as your palate isn't open as much as it when ur still a kid, so MARPE is the best and probably the only solution when ur 18 other than just getting a surgery

Widening your palate would make ur maxilla slightly less recessed MARPE can also indirectly affect the zygomatic and infraorbital regions through transverse maxillary expansion, but the effect is lateral and subtle not forward projection, so like i said it will help but it wont magically fix the recession but it will help the face, although for the mandible it cant do anything as it is specifically for maxilla, so surgery would be probably the last and only option im not an orthodontist i only know from my own personal experience as i used palate expanders when i was younger but not MARPE as i didnt need it, so orthodontist can tell you the best if u have more detailed questions that i might not know

bro my orthodontist is a money hungry retard who already took 6.5k from my parents and hes given me elastics + not even real invisalign, he has his own version of invisalign

Yeah that's unfortunate thing a lot of ppl that dont know what they need to through but if u can still try to get MARPE this is why research is important before you do anything so you dont get scammed by money hungry ppl that wont even give u what u actually need
