Is New York really the city of dreams or just another overhyped shithole

I saw some user talking about how the only people that romanticize New York are the people that have never lived there / in a big city like that. They are often small town cels, foids who wanna express their hypergamy to the max, etc.

I do agree with that but there’s also plenty of Toronto cels who wanna be from New York and live there. And yes it’s mainly foids.

If someone says that, automatically assume no. For me, the only people that say that about Los angeles are usually transplants from bumfuck, Nebraska where theres no beaches, no attractions and the population density is 20 people every 5 miles
