Okay so my temples are like receded kind of, but theres no hair on them.
Basically a not straight hairline but besides that i got a full head of hair.
I started taking oral minoxidil and am going through the shedding fase rn, which made me rethink my decisions,
since i also havent noticed any new growth on the temple area

Is it still worth it for me to take minoxidil?

minoxidil is if you are thinning, if you just recceded a bit you shoud have just took finasteride

it doesent affect testosterone it actaully raises it, not saying it doent have side effects but i wouldn't say feminizing ones, mabye mentally

If your losing hair due to androgens minoxdil wont work long term

alr bro i made a post a while back showing my hairline
the pics make it seem worse than it is but ima try link it to u or smth idk how

You cant really tell if early balding is balding, only you can now if your hair pushed back.

Mine went like lightly pushed back then, a little more, then it started thinning and thats when anyone can see balding. If its moved id hop on fin.

I was at a point like yours when i was like idk if im balding, mabye maturing but now its two years later and im clearly receded. Kind of trust your gut.

i mean ig it just got like that 2 years ago and then kinda stayed like how it is now.

i feel like id just take fin if its actually balding but idk if it can grow the hair back on my temples (cuz id like a straight hairline)

what do u think i should do? my eyebrows get thicker and longer lashes and i think minoxidil is less invasive (better sides) than fin
but this shedding fase just kinda make me rethink on my actions

yeah and he prescribed me oral and topical u think its good for me?
Yes it will help, I want to buy oral minoxidil for my eyebrows and lashes but the sites I know of stopped shipping to the US

Oral minoxidil will help you grow your hair back but you need to take finasteride with it to prevent DHT from making your hairline worse over time.

I've been taking oral minoxidil for around 9 months now, and I see results. It also helps grow your eyelashes and eyebrows.

Don't give up at the shedding stage because it's a normal part of the regrowth process.

You need a 5ARi mainly.

Oral minox will work to regrow hair. When I used it I even had hair growing on my inner forearm (where hair doesn’t even grow naturally), it was grotesque. I had great scalp gains all over though.

I stopped minox over a year ago now after being on for 2 years. I don’t regret it and I don’t consider it a looksmax at all. (Lost all lash and brow gains btw).

You WILL bloat up on minox since the hyperpolarization induces an increase in sodium retention through increased aldosterone biosynthesis in order to reduce intracellular potassium. I didn’t notice it until I looked back at older pics where I was higher bf and was noticeably more facial defined.

You need nothing more than 5ARi and topical anti androgens to keep the norwood reaper at bay and recover thinned hair.
what topical antiandrogens you use

You don't look like you're balding. It looks like a normal hairline. If you're under 20 or so wait for a few more years to get started on finasteride. You can't take fin if you're too young.

Other than that, getting on minoxidil can't really hurt you. 2.5mg is a good dosage. It probably won't make a huge difference with your temples, but your temples aren't really receding as it is.

okay thanks i guess i'll stay on it then.

the shedding fase rn sucks and im noticing some heart palpitations so i really dont know if its worth it to stay on oral just for the chance that my bald temples regrow but yeah

If you're noticing heart palpitations, you definitely need to stop using it and consult with your doctor. You can switch to topical minoxidil and apply it to your hair instead, and that may fix the heart issue since the minoxidil won't be going systemic. Heart palpitations are a rare (but pretty well-documented) side effect. It's not even worth it if it's messing with your heart.

Good luck, friend.

yeah maybe heart palpitations isnt the right word but my heart is beating faster, altough it might be because of some vitamins im taking (probs the minox tho lol)

dude stop taking oral mino its basic and not effective for your situation since youre only receding at the temples by a little. ihatemySOST is right you shoulda just taken finasteride to prevent further recession if thats really bothering you that much lmaoooo ur prob like 19 or sum shit so u got plenty of time but y taking mino anyway it doesnt do shitt for what youre looking for.

Better to go with topical minox. I would suggest the minoxidil from highstreetpharma and that should be good

alr bro thanks for the advice

what do u think about me taking oral minox to improve my hair texture? since my hair is very thin, and obv also for eyebrow and eyelash growth.

So ur advice is for me to apply topical and dermastamp temples, and then when the time comes take fin?
(only argument against this could be:

*1: i dont react to topical and only oral can grow back my temples
*2: more eyelash/eyebrow growth on oral
*3: thicker healthier hair on oral)
