Scientists and engineers are believed to had the technical expertise to manage the economy.

There has been some criticism leveled at technocratic governments. One complaint is that following such a structure is undemocratic, as it favors and rewards those with technical expertise over the choice and will of the populous. Other criticisms have been aimed at different forms of technocracy. For example, in a capitalistic economic technocracy, there may be arguments that the system of governance is structured to on support and further the means of the wealthiest citizens while oppressing workers.

There may also be arguments that a technocracy can encroach upon the freedoms of individuals as the government and resources are used to serve the regulations set forth by technocrats. The focus on science and technical principles in governance might also be seen as separate and disassociated from the humanity and nature of society. For instance, a technocrat might make decisions based on calculations of data rather than the impact on the populace.

Kind of a hard question, said people would need to go through thorough education on political theory/law etc. and might not have an aptitude for it.

The problem is that science doesn't solve all the problems. Still didn't reach that point yet.

Technical expertise would benefit the society far more than a voting system where you vote on politicians. How many people are voting for complex national questions even though they know nothing about it? Look how smart the average person is and remember that alot of people are far dumber and their vote count. Alot of people vote randomly or just read the newspaper and form of that their opinion, while experts do their research.
Propaganda, charisma and looks is an easy tool to get people in power who know nothing about certain aspects.look at cambridge analytics. With the help of Facebook and commercials they were able to influence people's opinion to an opinion somebody paid for. And it was al democratic voted.

Democracy is a horrible form of government if people are not educated.

.
Still, to best prevent it some measures must be taken:
- Highly educated population - Is harder to subvert (critical thinking) and is more likely to understand "unpopular" policies based on pragmatism.
- Religion is free on personal level but religious organizations (churches & sects) must be heavily regulated and closely monitored.
- No "legal persons": Organizations and companies are not considered persons and don't have any freedom of speech. A news outlet has no freedom of speech. It is there to analyze and report the facts and has to have the freedom to do exactly that but no more.
- A relatively but truly equalitarian society (imagine basic income while wealth cap of around 10 mio - enough to live comfortably for 200 years!) is also less susceptible to be subverted

If we were talking about scientists and engineers with the moral character and drive as the types like Nikola Tesla, then this would be a wonderful idea, I would love if Evolutionary Biologists and Neuroscientists in particularly, were in control of quite a bit, however, in the current modern era, scientists are quite corrupt, and so are the scientific institutions, they are run by greed, and corrupted by marxism. Even really mundane shit like paleontology has been twisted. Academics in general has been a breeding ground for corruption and Marxism ever since the end of WW2.

Yes, and abolish democracy too, best to see people act on empirical evidence instead of retarded sentiment or to appease the public.
Obviously, I think the ideal rulers should we well apt at the sciences and philosophy and economics etc as well as thoroughly screened for moral character.

I disagree. Science attracts scientists. Institutions and universities turn these people into weak libtard cucks with their narrow minded leftist view of what is supposed to be an empirical and open subject

Disagree, an educated population seems even worse for democracy.

Look at the modern west. What kind of people are advocating for mass-immigration and ridiculous climate-change policies? The 'university educated' part of the population.

It seems to me that educated people have worse mentalities for proper decision-making than less educated people. Probably because educated people have spent their lives listening to superiors, teachers, mentors, telling them what to do. Having to take no own real responsibility.

There is no doubt, maybe its different in your country. In my country, Netherlands, the most educated citizens vote on D66/Groenlinks, which are notorious for their Pro-EU, Pro-immigration, pro feminism, pro BLM, pro-climate change policies. These are basic facts.

More education = people voting shit political parties that try to destroy the country.

more education does not correlate with these things.

They could be virtual signalling.

No. These political parties are actively implementing policy changes in line with these things.

We have political parties in my country that are anti-mass immigration, think BLM is bullshit, feminism has gone too far, etc. and they are mostly voted on by 'dumb' uneducated people.

It proves to me that education is equal to brainwashing and doesn't create people capable of rational, critical thought.

Real smart people, not the 'I am highly educated so I am smart' kind of people, would vote for a smaller government that gives people more responsibility over their lives themselves.

Instead you see these educated retards vote for larger governments and having a population that relies on their government for survival and life direction.

Education is the enemy of a democracy.

I think you're suffering from selection bias.

I doubt most educated citizens are Pro-BLM, then again I don't know much about the Netherlands.
