It isn't possible to share the same mental experience but it is possible (or will be possible) to induce the same electrical signals through each persons brain to make them share a mental state. I learned over time.
I grew up around people who did similar things.

Several of my family members used to 'bring back and speak the dead' on all saints day(day after Halloween I believe)
Etc.

It gets tricky because there are similar practices across the world but under different titles, groups, an organizations.

For example some call themselves witches, some are Catholic priests, some are satanists, and some consider themselves new agers.

All in all its the same thing under a different title.

I would not consider doing these things as ascension.
