Shopped by lifting the shorter guy through leg extension only:

... and this is a full foot extension. Would a few inches really throw off your proportions?
 
Its not true, its guys with not enough money / time / or confidence in surgery coping.
 
thats an extreme example. maximum you can safely lengthen is 5 or 6 inches
