Is The Walking Dead worth the watch?

I’m assuming like most series’s the first few seasons will be good and then it drops off. I need something to watch whilst I rot in the evening.

As with most serial Science Fiction dramas, the first season is good, the second season is ok, every other season is stupid.

Even if you look past the clear basic physics problems inherent with zombie plots, the numbers don't make any sense. Even if 98% of the population turned into zombies, the remaining 2% of the population would arm themselves with guns and large trucks and kill all the zombies within a couple of months. Even if there were still zombies created when someone died, they would not be large in number, there would never be a scenario outside of possibly a large urban area where herds of zombies would assemble past that 2 month mark.
