Is there a way to get lean without missing out on height gains?

17 5'9 155lbs 23-25%ish bodyfat, I really want to cut for summer on 1800 calories a day but I dont want to stunt my height since height is law. Mom is 5'8 dad is 5'10 so I should be 5'11 at least but Im short somehow. I think Im in tanner stage 4 so Im praying I can still grow but maybe im coping. Is it worth it to cut or should I keep waiting? Should I do cardio instead of eating less? Or will it be good to lose some fat for my hormones?

Its hard to calculate cuz I carry a lot of weight in my hips and ass like a bitch, I know Im definitely at least 20% tho. You sure its safe? How many calories below bmr should I be doing you think? If it even makes me miss out on half an inch Id rather not yk

Idk exacly, just eat less and make sure ur not completely starving urself. I have gone up and down in weight several times and it never affected my height

Nah, i just eat whatever i feel like, but i've been skinny most of my life.

If i were u i would just eat a tiny bit less every meal and that will add up to a few 100 cals less a day

Good idea bro thanks Ill just try to get enough protein and cut carbs ig

Go on a calorie deficit so go like 500 calories down for example of your maintenance is 2500 then eat 2000 that’s the safest way to lose about 1lb every day and i suggest you should definetly track your good if you’re losing weight it will make you conscious about what you are eating.

Idk if it’s good for you height or not but If you wish to lose weight use the app called “MyNetDairy” if you have a food scale to track your food. It will give you the needed calories and even decrease them overtime to adjust to your body weight loss. I went from 85.2kg to 73.5kg from September 2024 to now, and recently as of 2 weeks I made it so I’ll lose a kg a week (my calories went from 1900ish to 1600ish and my actual maintenance is 2700 before, keep in mind I started at 2300 with the app for my weight loss) I’m 5’11, 19 years old btw

at 17 metabolism is so high that you could eat anything and stay lean as long as you are moving
