Is there any detrimental effect from taking 5-7 mins between sets as opposed to 3?

It depends on your split.. If you’re hitting something like PPL then it can be better than 3 minute since you don’t spend much time in the gym anyway.

But if you do something like FB, if you took 7 minutes to rest each set you would be in the gym for 3+ hours

i do anterior posterior

Then you’re fine tbh. As long as you take intra workout carbs you’re fine.

alr I usually do 20g of carbs intra do you think that’s enough?

Usually I have like 40-60 pre workout as well

Yea, try to swish them around in your mouth and make sure they are high GI (they are fast digested) so your body will detect the carbs. the point of taking intra workout carbs is to signal your body that it has enough fuel and thus he will lower your CNS fatigue so you will perform better in the rest of the session.

make sure you take it 10 minutes before the half of the workout, so if your workout is 2 hours, get it in 50 minutes
