Sociologists often define cults by certain characteristics that distinguish them from other types of social and religious groups. Here are some key characteristics:

1. Authoritarian Leadership:
- Cults typically have a charismatic and authoritarian leader who claims special knowledge or authority.
- The leader often demands absolute obedience and loyalty from followers.

2. Exclusive Truth Claims:
- Cults often claim to possess the exclusive or ultimate truth.
- Followers are taught that their beliefs are superior to those of outsiders.

3. Isolation and Control:
- Cults frequently isolate members from society, including family and friends.
- Control over members' lives is maintained through surveillance, peer pressure, and restrictive rules.

4. Totalistic Ideology:
- Cults promote a worldview that pervades all aspects of a member's life.
- This ideology often includes a strict moral code and a clear distinction between good and evil.

5. Manipulative and Coercive Methods:
- Recruitment often involves manipulation and deception.
- Psychological techniques such as mind control, indoctrination, and brainwashing may be used to maintain control.

6. Demand for Total Commitment:
- Members are expected to devote significant time, money, and effort to the group.
- Personal sacrifices are often required, and dissent is discouraged or punished.

7. Us vs. Them Mentality:
- Cults create a strong in-group identity while demonizing outsiders.
- This mentality fosters a sense of persecution and martyrdom among members.

8. Apocalyptic or Salvationist Beliefs:
- Many cults have beliefs centered around an impending apocalypse or the promise of salvation for followers.
- These beliefs can justify extreme behavior and reinforce the group's cohesion.

9. Financial Exploitation:
- Members are often required to make financial contributions that benefit the leaders.
- Financial exploitation can take the form of donations, unpaid labor, or pressure to recruit new members who also contribute financially.

10. Substitution of Relationships:
- Cults often replace personal relationships with those approved by the group.
- Members may be encouraged to cut ties with non-believers, including family and friends
.

I'd say .org hits pretty much all of them, except number 1 and 8. There is no authoritative leader - there are some worshipped members but no one with universal acceptance. Also no apolyptic or salvation beliefs. Life ends with you according to BPers.

by this definition all nationalist and rich people are cultist

this guy is using the same tactics jews use by using labels that have a irrational backing and irrational connotation to prevent an idea

by his definition cults are good because cults are nationalistic and tribalistic and that’s natural human nature

common jewish tactic. "how dare you believe your own ideas are true and superior to all other ideas? you must be in a cult, you must be brainwashed! come believe our superior ideas instead."

there are more cultish elements to the things normies believe than adherents of blackpill. we are just interested in the truth no matter where it leads. but how does lgbtq work exactly? how does it benefit society? how does denial of biological reality benefit society? how is that not cultish?

it seems the only difference between what is deemed a cult is in number of believers. if you took a bunch of modern normie and transported them back to 1900s, they would be called a deathcult
