I looked at a graph that had the price all the way back to 2020 (I wish I could see before, maybe they went public in 2020), but I do believe that most companies were reevaluated after covid.
I don't think that the stock price of Match Group tells us anything about the trajectory of dating app usage. They will probably become more and more common in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if we see 80% of couples meeting through such means 10-20 years from now.

It's not, you understand it wrong. Tinder uses ELO to "categorize" people's attractiveness, but throttles likes the other way too, by manipulating your position in queue. You can have high ELO and still get lower amount of matches - for example I now got account throttled and get few matches, but all from attractive women.
Now I got shadowbanned once (after report from bot), where they set your ELO to lowest possible, and only got shown total unironic subhumans, ultra-ugly women and landwhales. After I verified and they lifted shadowban I again started seeing only good looking women.
So yeah, they are manipulating algorithms to sell more premium accounts, and you're not safe even if you're good looking enough to actually compete in online dating.
