Is this what I need, a cephalometric analysis? Or a normal side profile x ray would be enough?

I want to know how recessed I am as well as how bad my overbite/overjet is

I assume my ortho could do the same analysis on a simple x ray but I’m not sure when I will be able to get an appointment with my ortho again. Could you guys do it for me, or do I have to pay more for the analysis? Even if I were to do that I doubt I would know exactly what these numbers mean

That’s not my x ray, it’s just an example. I’m not sure if I need to get that or something else.

getting this would be ideal for an initial assessment but you could also just take a pic of:
1) your side profile ith ehad in neutral position
2) As many pictores of your teeth as possible. Try Forceful smiling from Front and most importantly side. Just blur out anything above the maxilla or pm the pics.

In the end you will need a professional assesment from an orthodontist anyway nut i am sure with what i requested above we could give some assesment.

Thanks dude. My gonial angle is like 110 degrees and that makes me think I’m not downward grown yet I’m still likely recessed. In some profile pics I look like a chad in others I barely have a jaw, it’s all about how I’m holding my head. The issue with this is that I don’t know what should be my head posture ( tilt ) and my natural forward head posture/ kyphosis doesn’t help lol.

look up some posture tutorial on youtube, take a pic and pm. We cant say anything just from threads; its pointless

If anything it sounds like you are slightly recessed and forward head posture makes it look better by tilting your head upwards.

I’m not sure if any dentist or orthodontist’s clinic has the meanings of doing such an x ray, you probably will have to look up for specialised orthodontic clinic, at least that’s the case for me. I thought you asked about my first appointment with the ortho, not about the x ray, because that x ray I posted is not mine, I’m planning to get that done next week.

Dentist most likely no orthodontist most likely yes
