Is water fasting/starving better to get to a lower body fat percentage than working out?

It's definitely requires lower effort if you ask me. I fast for three days, eat normal after that for one day and repeat the cycle. Should I keep doing this until I am at a low body fat percentage or just go the gym instead?

I dislike going to the gym and kinda want to start boxing but perhaps the gym is better for getting muscular. Being able to fight would be useful and more fun though I suppose.

I talked to a fasting expert who works at UC San Diego, who said for fasting you want to do one 3 day once a month. Doing it too frequently is retarded. I lost weight really fast just doing eggs for breakfast and chicken breast for dinner, and that was like 1000 calories lean, and walked a bit. Pretty easy as well.

One fast per month where you dont eat for 3 days? Also can you for example split it to 1 day a week?

He said it was less effective, you want to do intermittent fasting except when doing 3 day fasting. You get almost all benefits on the 3rd day.
