Is your scalp your untanned skin color?

I heard @FatJattMofo saying this last year, but it doesn't seem believable. I thought the scalp was supposed to be lighter than your skin since it needs to produce less melanin.

I had light brown hair and blue eyes as a kid yet now black hair black eyes slightly tanned skin, I’m not sitting here coping with it

My entire skin color is darker. I think it's because of increased melanin production from living in hot Texas.
I was much lighter as a child, in Canada. I'm going to take some supplements and see where that gets me, because my chest skin is dark than my scalp

There are literally NO good examples of skin lightening. I will be the first

Would say not completely, because lots of men have shit circulation in their scalp and that’s why they lose hair, so it’s often much Paler.
