Sure Islam is a great fighter but his lightweight title reign was horrible. He had a good win against Charles but both volk fights were awful. In the first fight he nearly lost against a featherweight. And in the rematch volk came on 11 days notice dehydrated and unfit. Dustin porier who was pushing retirement went into the 5th round with him and had good results on the scorecards.
Renato moicano got gifted a title shot on one days notice and went 1-2 since that fight.
That’s not “the best lightweight ever” title defences. That’s the fights people would have when climbing the rankings. I hate seeing “Islam is the best” “Best lightweight oat” when he has the easiest title reign ever in modern UFC
