What's your personal take? Should state and church be separated? When it comes to Islam it's technically impossible. It influences our every way of life; from how we eat to how we walk. So when someone attacks Islam, they don't just attack a religion; they attack everything about us and that's what many people don't understand.

In nordic theism and christianity we are protestants so practically our perspective is that the weight and importance should be put on the personal individual relationship that every person themselves have with the trinity. We are not against the church but don't think it should be a spokesperson and middleman for God the way that catholics do. I don't mind churches neither and especially since my family comes from the church densest part of Sweden. But I also know it has not always been beneficial for my ancestors to have had the church breathing down their necks and taxing them nonstop.
My aunt (not blood related) was a Protestant. She would often tell me about how Catholics were in power in the factories and how they discriminated against Protestants. She said one day she had a job interview and she was perfect for the job until the final question came which was "Are you Catholic?" To which she answered truthfully which caused her not to get the job. Kinda crazy. This was in the early 60s.

Disconnect from church and direct worship of God. No one here goes to church for the sake of it, church is only used for special occassions like wedding and funeral etc. Also we don't do confessions or stuff like that, in most cases you pray by yourself, ask forgiveness by yourself, ask for strength by yourself. Everything in the mind. Although this approach might for some people weaken their faith, for the people who are resilient they will build an extremely close relationship with God that is not found in many places since you explored the spirituality yourself, you earned it.
