Apparently isotretinoin boosts collagen in a similar fashion to tretinoin, but I couldn't find any info comparing the two

Do we even know at all ? Barring cope side effects which one offers the strongest increase in collagen production?

tret is irritating and annoying to apply, also weaker against acne

thats the difference between the 2

Isotretinoin better, should also fix acne on overall body (so if back acne = no more back acne :whatfeels:)

What about collagen production?

Isotretinoin would increase collagen all over the body, but can it do that to the extent tretinoin does ?

its the same drug nigga
They aren't niggus, they're structurally different and do different stuff in the body

oh my fucking god nigger no shit since one is designed to take orally and one topically

to make it simple for you: yes they will have more or less same effect on your collagen production

Accutane defo since it has the fastest turnover rate

Tret is really overhyped here in normie mainstream it’s known to not effect like 30-40% of users

Tazarotene is way better in terms of potency and efficacy

They both increase collagen, just in different ways (due to binding affinity to different retinoid receptors). In theory tretinoin should be better for collagen boosting as it increases cell turnover and collagen production, but it rapes your skin at the same time. This study suggests that isotret is effective for the production of collagen and more convenient than topical retinoids like tret.

Nigger stop nigging they're two different compounds
Oral tretinoin is different from oral isotretinoin and topical tretinoin is different from topical isotretinoin

They're not the nigging same nigga

Yeah I switched to taz, wonder if isotretinoin is still better than that too

So stacking them would be ideal ?

For turnover yes it is, it’s the most effective

However too many sides and less effective for anti ageing than taz

Taz gives insane collagen and anti ageing but not as good for acne

But wouldn't a higher turnover rate mean more skin renewal so more collagen elastin and all of that ?

Yeh it’s On a similar level but taz still mogs for anti ageing

If you run isotret long term the sides would probably be worse than taz or tret

Just cuz of the higher turnover rate

If your goal is to boost collagen, then no. Personally I mainly use tazarotene (and a few other things) because most studies I read showed tazarotene to be effective for my needs.
