I’m a Turkish American that has just got to istanbul for my surgeries. I haven’t been here before my family is from Ankara.

People in Istanbul I’d say 50% look like southern Europeans and 50% look middle eastern. Given its location on the map it makes sense.

I have a Mediterranean pheno that is east med meaning I can psss better in Turkey, Lebanon, or Syria than Italy or Spain.

You see a few blondes and Western European looking people as well

The meme that Turks are brown is cope most don’t look much diff from Greeks in western Turkey.

I’m from Ankara but haven’t been there since I was a kid. Are people more ethnic looking there?

Persians would stand out a bit in Istanbul not bc of skin color but facial features

It's a lot more mixed since there are actual turkish and Iranic people in there and not just greeks

But many people in Istanbul can be dark and when I say dark I mean olive skinned. There are some that look like Levantine Arabs
