Depends on the kind of smarts you're talking about. MVP knows a lot more about it than me, but there's something called crystalized intelligence e.g. I understand it to be something like accumulated knowledge that's been practiced and applied to resemble something akin to wisdom. It becomes intuitive at a point to where you don't even have to think about it.
