In 6 days, I’ll be returning to school after a 2-month summer break, and I’m wondering if I can pass as 5'10–5'11. I’m 5'8 barefoot and around 5'9 in regular shoes. I recently bought shoe lifts that add 1 inch, and my new air forces add about 1.4 inches, so I’m curious whether appearing that much taller would be too obvious.

Don't think too much about it because the more awkward you act the more people will be able to tell something is off. You can easily fraud one extra height from your baseline shoe-wearing height without even using insoles and just having thick-soled shoes.
