Before Elon’s acquisition of Twitter, it was rare to see someone being openly racist or sharing racist memes without being immediately suspended. People who held racist views had to use coded language to convey their messages. If you wanted to see explicitly racist content, you had to go to places like 4chan or Stormfront, where you'd often be overwhelmed and shocked by how extreme the hatred and racism were. I was somewhat racist myself, but the level of racism on those platforms was far beyond anything I personally believed. Fast forward to when Elon bought Twitter, and now racism is everywhere-often even more extreme than what I saw on Stormfront. if you're exposed to it long enough, it just starts to feel normal, lol.
