I don’t mean it in the sense of administering justice but in the sense of being able to determine human worth arbitrarily.
States use violence to further there agendas(obviously) this results in people dying(obviously)
But if an individual were to use violence to further their agendas we would condemn it harshly. I’m aware that in general people view war as bad but the degree in negative reaction between states using violence vs individuals means that we implicitly admit that states have power over human worth and dignity
Whether you think this is good or bad doesn’t matter I’m just pointing it out, although this would seem to contradict our view of humans rights as being these abstract immutable things.
