I asked someone who has a phd in some psychological field (I forgot which exactly), but he's written numerous papers and participated in experiments regarding facial attractiveness, and he said mirror is more realistic than pictures despite the flipping. the fact that the mirror produces an image of you in 3d makes up for that difference in flipping, to ultimately produce a more realistic image
