3 / 2 -> 3 - 1/2 -1/2 -1/2 = 3/2 :yes:
5 / 3 does NOT = 5 - 1/3 -1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3 = 3 + 1/3 :no:
5 / 3 -> 5 - 2/3 - 2/3 - 2/3 - 2/3 - 2/3 = 1 + 2/3 :yes:

what im saying is division is repeated subtracted of a fraction where the numerator is 1 less than the denominator, which is = to the divisor. the repetition number IS = to the dividend

like 5 / 4 = 5 - 3/4 -3/4 - 3/4 - 3/4 - 3/4

its easy to understand but i put low effort into explaining it well and people here have no motivation to even try to read anything that requires thought

What you've written, essentially is x/y = x - x . (y-1)/y and it is called an "identity".

The main purposes of identities in mathematics are,

simplifying calculations or connecting different areas of mathematics (like the Euler's identity or the Pythagorean identity and many more).

Whereas the identity that you have mentioned actually makes the calculations more complex, and does not connect any branches of mathematics either.

So, not only does this make this "discovery" useless but also it takes away the certainty of you being the first one to say it as identities that do not serve the main purpose of identities to begin with, will not gain popularity or be considered revolutionary in mathematics so there could be other people that have previously thought of this but their thoughts were useless and those discoveries were not recorded by them or others because they were useless, and even if we give you the benefit of the very least doubt and call you the discoverer, it still is useless and a discovery when it comes to identities is not necessarily a useful thing as for every identity that is valid, you could restructure one of the sides (right hand or left) in infinitely many other ways and thus discover new identities.

But this does not necessarily mean that the discovery would be even a bit useful, infact almost all of them will be useless and it is within the abilities of even a common man, that knows a bit or two about mathematics, to discover new useless identities.

Like how you restructured x/y into x - x . (y-1)/y by just simply introducing a multiple of x that has to be subtracted from x to equate to x/y and is a completely useless identity.

Good luck!

Just because you think you're smart, it doesn't make you smart.

The reason why you even decided to post this completely useless of a thing is because you think that you're smart but this is just embarrassing to see how you thought this was a "discovery".

I can see your mental delusion in your titles and other posts.

Maybe pick up an actual book instead of doing this mate, it's embarrassing.

In specificity, look for ones that help with escaping self deception and delusion, mental health books.

Later, you could switch to other books to learn what an identity is.
