hey, i just recently started taking 10 mg of izotretinoin (literally like 3 days ago) and i know there's a purging phase (acne worsening), but i still need advice. Here's some questions i'd like to ask:
1. How to minimise purging other than good diet, sleep and activity , which i already do
2. If it continues/ if i still have acne after one month of 10mg, should i just go to 20mg straight away?
3. any other tips/ experiences would be appreciated
Thanks for any advice, bhai boyos!

1. You can't really avoid purging, that's meant to happen in all situations. Of course, proper moisturizing and using sunscreen are needed to avoid making or worse, but the only thing you can do is push through the initial weeks and enjoy the perfect skin later. Beauty is pain.
2. If your isotretinoin is dermatologist prescribed, then go ahead and talk to them first and see what they tell you. If it isn't then yeah, increase the dosage and see how your skin reacts.
3. No :)

really? but ive just started, isnt it worth to wait the 1 month? thanks for the reply anyway
Absolutely, as far as I'm aware purging usually lasts like 4-6 weeks, so wait those 4 weeks and then reassess

I mean Tretinoin, or maybe even something milder like Adapalene will usually work. But really, Accutane is always a secure way to get rid of your acne forever, the only issues I see with it is the price and getting with without a prescription. Tretinoin cured all of my skin issues, but I recently switched to Adapalene 0.1%, been a couple months and haven't seen any issues with my skin so far, it's significantly cheaper so I probably won't go back to Tret.
