Could you still become a boxer if you had jaw implants, or other facial implants in general?

My jaw is slightly too narrow, and my mandible isn't angular and so I have decided that I will need custom jaw implants (along with other implants) when I have the money.

My only concern is that it will get in the away of combatsportmaxxing, and that I won't be able to fight without worrying about my face falling apart like an android phone.

Have there been any cases of facial implants getting fucked up by fighting or blunt force in general? Eppley said no in response to a similar question to mine not so long ago but I'm not sure, as claiming that is in his best interests.

Thanks brethren :feelshah:

Being hitted directly on the spot the implants were put in would certainly damage it with time.
For how long have you been into boxing? Wouldn't it help your jaw develop naturally according to Wolff's Law?

I haven't been boxing for very long, and I can't train that frequently at the moment because of school and shit.

I know what you mean with the wolffs law stuff but you can't really beat the precision of a custom implant. Maybe I won't need them bc of boxing though who knows.

You’re not a boxer lil bro I can tell

Incels be like wolffs law :feelsuhh:

Which is more important for you, jaw implants or boxing?

Absolutely not. U will utterly fuck up your implant as well as the attachment site. Implants get dislodged on impact frm falling or tripping too hard. Boxing n facial implant is the worst combination

Boxing or the implants for now. Once the implants are fibroused into place the screws become much less important but either way if you take a significant blow on that site it could be a real problem for you. Why? Not just because the implants could move (and they could) but because the implants and screws themselves will erode the bone a bit, which is normal, and thus create a situation where it's easier to fracture your mandible.

depends on the implant fixation and the material

When you talk about the implant coming loose, you're probably talking about a blow so hard it could break your jaw, which could happen in boxing, but wouldn't happen from a fall, unless you fell of a 2nd floor balcony right on your face.

Do you reckon this would still hold true if I was only sparring, not competing in actual local matches and shit?

I think I could probably get away with that.

The short answer is they will get busted, especially if you have vertically enhancing jaw implants. Any implants in the face could move; worse, the screws can cause damage.

Basically, if you have implants, avoid boxing. I have gotten hit in the face and have had no problems with my implants, but boxing is not something I am not willing to try.

I have vertically enhancing implants myself, and I am pretty rough overall. I have never had any issues.

If you have implants in the cheeks or the jaw which fit (grab) the topography of your bones correctly, you might be ok with being hit within reason. Of course, if you get hit like a maniac, bone or implants will be destroyed.

wolffe's law

start slow, the jaw is an extremely painful place to smash

in a year ull see a clear difference.

damn imagine having an infraorbital implant stab your eyeball after a punch. you have to avoid ever fighting again if you get implants

It's over for Colby Covingtoncels

That's why you get a side wing osteotomy that lasts for a lifetime. Probably cheaper too.
