This is an unusual case. I agree with OP that he needed the ramus to be lengthened. This was probably a mistake from the surgeon, because the majority of jaw implant cases don't need ramus lengthening. If the gonions are narrow enough that they don't project past the soft tissues, that can give the impression of a short ramus that isn't actually the case. So most surgeons are probably focusing on widening implants, which doesn't serve a patient like this well, because he's the rare case of a guy who really needs vertical augmentation.

Also, it's just too wide.
