I don't know where this notion came in where, if you want to get jaw implants or custom wraparound or whatever, your only options are Eppley or maybe Yaremchuk. Ok, that might be true, FOR PLASTIC SURGEONS.

You can literally contact any maxillofacial surgeon and ask if this is something that they perform, and if they do, then you are in as good of hands as Eppley or Yaremchuk, maybe even better. It's literally and quoting Wiki specifically:

"An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a regional specialist surgeon treating the entire craniomaxillofacial complex: anatomical area of the mouth, jaws, face, and skull, as well as associated structures. "

The reason you only keep hearing about Yaremchuck and Eppley, is because people who get these implants, are for some reason always choosing to go the route of going through a plastic surgeon to get this procedure, as opposed to just contacting a maxillofacial surgeon. As we know, the reason you wouldn't go to just any plastic surgeon to get this done, is due to the precision that is required for a jaw implant, this is something which is much more difficult to get right, compared to a chin implant, and this is why many surgeons don't perform this, and if they do, a lot of them are very bad at placing it right and making it look appealing, because these people are plastic surgeons, so they literally do any surgery that will make them money, they aren't maxillofacial surgeons which are literally educated on the specific part of your face that you want fixed.

Example: Dr Joel Defrancq. https://facialsculptureclinic.com/en/

Here we have a maxillofacial surgeon, not a plastic surgeon, and this is someone who performs jaw implants as well as wraparound. Just one way to tell how much more professional this guy is compared to any of the plastic surgeons out there, after you have received your implants, they will keep you there for an entire week afterwards for aftercare and make sure that you don't get an infection or have any other weird symptoms after you are done, as opposed to Eppley or Yaremchuck who will send you home 12 hours after the surgery.

TL;Dr: If you are looking to get jaw implants or wraparound, please contact a maxillofacial surgeon instead of a plastic surgeon, and don't listen to people telling you that Eppley and Yaremchuck are your only options, because again, they may be good, BUT they are just plastic surgeons.

Yeah I forgot to add that as well. Don't you think it's very convenient that if you google jaw implants, for some reason you can never seem to find the price or anything about it anywhere, no matter what route you go, it always leads you to Eppley or Yaremchuk? And they just happen to charge like 15-25k for the surgery.

Defrancq, obviously he will be cheaper since he is located in Belgium, but just as an example, he uses PEEK material, if you go to him you will pay like 8 or 9k if I remember correctly, for a custom wraparound implant + the fucking stay there for an entire week. Literally from someone who specializes in doing this. Why the fuck then would you choose literally anybody else?

Yeah and I think Yaremchuck is like 20 lol

Bad information, at least in the US. Firstly not many plastic surgeons do not do jaw implants because it requires endoscopic work that they are not certified to do. It would be even rarer for a Maxillofacial surgeon to be certified to do endoscopic work, I believe Eppley was a board certified plastic surgeon before he trained to do maxillofacial work. Although it would probably be legal for a max fax surgeon in the US to put in implants in it would be an invitation for a law suit.

yeah
would also prefer a good jaw surgeon from europe

but you can not deny that Eppley has tons of experience, especially in soft tissue (which is essential for planning and making the surgery; you wish for 5 mm projection on your chin implant ? at the end you only get 2mm because of soft tissue)

The reason they go to Eppley and yaremchuk is because they have extensive cosmetic surgery experience and can craft jaw implants that are satisfactory in an aesthetic sense.

A maxfac may be capable but they don’t have the experience through trial and error to make a satisfactory jaw implant like that of a make model. There are doctors who specialize in cosmetics for that. This is why it’s a differentiating factor.

It’s like saying the Peridontist can do a better cleaning than a dental hygenist because he took the courses and graduated from post grad and has more experience. That’s not how it works. Whoever specializes in the field is who you should go to.

Through many consultations I’ve learned that a lot of surgeons are bluepilled with no aesthetics in mind. You need cosmetic plastic surgeons for your troubles. It doesn’t matter if they go to Harvard or whatever school - all that matters is experience in cosmetics and results to show for it.
