Jaw moving to side when closing my mouth

So when I have my jaw open and close my mouth quickly then my jaw kinda moves to the side and I can feel it. It’s almost like it puts itself in the correct position.
Is this normal?

Slightly shifted bite perhaps
My top and bottom teeth can either align or be shifted slightly to one side when together, depending on how I hold them
And usually shift slightly to that one side when chewing

With braces if mild
Jaw surgery if severe
My lower teeth are only like a couple of mm off centre so it doesn’t really matter
