Jaw surgeries for sleep apnea treatment

Just curious. If your jaw surgeries are justified by the need of sleep apnea treatment, are they legit? Can you expect an aesthetic effect or are they done only for practical reasons so that your jaw won’t look so good? And is the treatment covered by your insurance?

in my case i thought that i have problem with my lower third but if you have a perfect occlusion it's over for surgery.
